Children’s Ministry

Street Boys of Meru 2There are more than three million children in Kenya and Uganda, East Africa, who are desperately poor and need a helping hand.  Many are orphans with no one to care for them. Others are abandoned at a young age. Some are street children, who live on the streets, eat from garbage cans and sleep on the ground, exposed to rain and nighttime cold. Some children have a home and parents, but live their lives suffering from hunger and disease because they are so poor. They lack adequate food, clothing and medical care. They are without hope of an education – without hope for the future.

Street boys in LandroverAfrican Children’s Mission supports orphaned, abandoned, abused and desperately poor children, giving them the opportunity for a better life. Thousands of children receive aid through the ACM Feeding Ministry. They also receive discipleship and love. In each of the schools included in the Feeding Ministry, ACM staff members teach Christian Character Development.

Hundreds of these children, those in the greatest need, are fully supported by the ministry through Child Sponsorship, either in the home of a family member or in a carefully selected foster home.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe children’s needs are met through the financial gifts of donors ministering in partnership with ACM. We are a faith ministry, funded by churches, small groups, foundations and individuals, depending on God to supply our needs through the prayers and gifts of men and women in partnership with us. And so, we all work together with God to accomplish His purposes, one of which is to care for orphans, widows and the needy.
